NTS 24 – The Great Historical Route
6 nights - (Addis/Lalibella/Axum/Gondah/Blue Nile/Lake Tana)
Day 1 Addis Ababa. After arrival, city tour of Addis Ababa, notably the palaces of Emperor Haila Salessie, the lions den, Behertsige tropical gardens and Entoto Mountins. Lunch and dinner included. Overnight at a city hotel.
Day 2 Addis Ababa/Lalibella. Fly early this morning to Lalibella. Tour of the eight wonder of the world, the 13th century rock hewn churches – notably Bet Giyogis among others. All meals included. Overnight at a hotel.
Day 3 Lalibella/Axum. Fly this morning to Axum. Sightseeing and tour of the Obelisk, or monolithic Stelae, constructed before Christ, Church of Saint Mary of Zion, reputed home of the Art of the Covenant. Visit the birthplace of the Queen of Sheba, Great Mother of Judaic Ethiopians and mother to King Menelick I, who strengthened ties with Israel after her relationship with King Solomon. All meals included. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 4 Axum/Gondah. Fly this morning to Gondah. Tour the village of Welleka, home of the Falashas or Judaic Ethiopians before the famous Moses airlift (undertaken by Israel in 1991). Lecture on Falasha culture. All meals included. Overnight at a hotel.
Day 5 Gondah/Blue Nile. After breakfast, drive to Baha-dar arriving in time for lunch. Tour of the world famous Blue Nile Falls. All meals included. Overnight at a hotel.
Day 6 Blue Nile. After breakfast, take a boat tour of Lake Tana’s 15th Century monasteries of Kebran Gabriel and Ura Kidane with picnic lunches. Return to the hotel for a barbeque dinner. Overnight at a hotel.
Day 7 Blue Nile/Addis Ababa. After breakfast, shop around for curious; lunch at the hotel, afternoon flight back to Addis Ababa and transfer to your hotel. This evening enjoy cocktails with your Ethiopian host. Dinner is at a local restaurant before the departure of your flight home.
